Regina Brett, Life Lessons

REGINA BRETT, LIFE LESSONS
I came across this remarkable lady the other day. Her name is Regina Brett and she is an American author, newspaper columnist and inspirational speaker. Having beat breast cancer in 1996, Regina decided to write a book featuring fifty life lessons a decade later, in order to help guide and inspire others on how to life their lives to the full. Consequently, her life lessons ended up going viral a few years later and have been accessed by millions of people worldwide, which is simply fantastic given that her advice is so sincere, intelligent and often very beautiful too. For me personally, reading her lessons has made me appreciate my life a whole lot more and really want to get out there and live it. They're a reminder that life is short, precious, a little bit crazy and not always perfect, but it's there for you to shape and live in which ever way you choose too. It's your life, and although it may be difficult at times, you have it within you to overcome any obstacles and make the most of what life has to offer you. So if you couldn't already tell, I love Regina's life lessons, which is why I'd like to share some of my favourites with you, so that you can hopefully feel the same way about life too.

1
Make peace with your past so that it won't screw up your present

2
When in doubt, just take the next small step

3
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone

4
Don't take yourself so seriously, no-one else does

5
Cry with someone, it's more healing than crying alone

6
When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile

7
Don't compare your life to others, you have no idea what their journey is all about

8
If a relationship has to be a secret you shouldn't be in it

9
Life is too short for long pity parties, so get busy living

10
When it comes to going after what you love, don't take no for an answer

11
Over-prepare and then go with the flow

12
Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special day. Today is special

13
No-one else is in charge of your happiness except you

14
Frame every so-called disaster with "will this matter in five years?"

15
Time heals almost everything, so give time time

16
Believe in miracles

17
Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger

18
Get outside every day, miracles are waiting everywhere

19
Get rid of everything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful

20
Envy is a waste of time, you already have everything you need

21
All that truly matters in the end is that you're loved

22
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up

23
Life isn't tied with a bow but it's still a gift

24
Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now

25
The best is yet to come
