I was flicking through one of the Sunday magazines this morning, and I happened to read an article that focused on the diary entries of the world renowned and highly inspirational Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. What struck me as soon as I saw the photos of these diary entries was the vibrant exotic colours, the eclectic mismatch of drawings, some of which are self portraits, the beautiful Spanish written in a beautifully elusive font and the whole concept of self expression that pours out of each entry. They were so amazing to look at, and it was interesting to see how an artist deals with their abundant and perhaps overwhelming creative urges and output, and uses them as a way of processing their daily life, when they're not busy creating famous pieces of art for us all to enjoy.
Therefore I wanted to share a couple of Frida's diary entries with you and should you like to purchase the book which binds all these beautiful entries in one, then you can purchase 'The Diary of Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Self Portrait' here.
