dungarees- H&M
shoes- Dr Martens
top- Topshop
earrings- a super cool shop in Lisbon
So peeps, this is my second ever outfit post in the history of evaaaaa'. Yay. Thanks for joining me, free metaphorical cookies for you all :) If you could kindly look past my spotty chin and the annoying camel toe that seems to appear sometimes when I wear these dungarees, then you'll see that today's outfit post is all about dungarees and colour matching, with particular emphasis on metallic colours like gold, bronze and silver (ie. this is basically an excuse for me to wear my amazingly funky gold Dr Martens).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So if you wanna achieve this look, you will firstly need a pair of dungarees in a neutral colour eg. black, navy blue, light or dark grey...

Next, you want to match the colour of the top, jumper or jersey that you wear underneath your dungarees, to the colour of the dungarees themselves and get the colour as close as possible. If your top has a pattern on it or some form of detail, that's even better- the top I'm wearing is a crop top with a gorgeous blue lace pattern on it- because it allows the top and dungarees to be distinguished separately.

And of course the same principle would apply to grey dungarees and so on.

The next thing to do is to check out the detailing on your dungarees, so for this you're looking at the buttons, the zips, the buckles on the straps etc. because more often than not, these will be in one of the shades on the metallic spectrum. This metallic colour is now the colour you're aiming to accessorize with, so that means shoes and jewellery in particular. Of course this isn't a strict rule- my dungaree detailing is bronze but I chose to accessorize in gold- so don't feel limited by this, just play around with different shades of metallic and have fun fun fun.
Now when it comes to shoes, your entire shoe collection is your oyster. You want to be choosing shoes that are either metallic in colour or in neutral shades with metallic detailing, for example...

And as for jewellery, larger earrings in particular work a treat however go with what's comfortable for you, and the same principle applies with all other jewellery, as well as keeping it all to the same metallic shade as ya dungarees.

And now that we're done, here's a random song to get you up and dancing....
SHELTER SONG, TEMPLES
