Gustavo Silva Nunez

Realistic: His use of light and reflections make the paintings appear three-dimensional, as if they are about to surface out of the water and into reality

GUSTAVO SILVA NUNEZ

How breathtakingly incredible are these pieces of art by the Venezuelan artist Gustavo Silva Nunez?! Gustavo's artwork focuses on capturing people in swimming pools, with Gustavo contouring the elements of light and reflection as well as photographing his work with himself incoporated into the piece, such as adding detail to a body with a paintbrush or holding on to a limb, to make his artwork look 3D. If you scroll down to look at some of his other insane pieces of art, you'll also really notice Gustavo's amazing ability to capture the texture and fluidity of water so accurately and realistically, especially when it comes to its interaction with the equally amazing human figures that Gustavo paints.

Getting to grips: In one photo, he paints tattoos onto the arm of a man in his painting, pretending to hold onto the man's other arm

Making a splash: Venezuelan artist Gustavo Silva Nuñez has brought his paintings of swimmers to life by posing with them playfully, giving the illusion that he is about to dive into the water

Mingling: To add to the realism, the artist poses next to the paintings in strikingly interactive ways, making it look as though he is grabbing onto the swimmers' limbs or shielding himself from their splashes

Take a dip: He poses without a shirt on, adding to the effect that he is ready for a swim

Multi-talented: The artist also creates silk-screen T-shirts and plays the drums in an indie-punk band called Punky Brewsters

On display: Mr Nuñez poses with a selection of his impressively lifelike portraits

I don't know about you but boy am I wishing that I could paint like Gustavo right now...
